Robert Ybarra was born November 4, 1949 in Sacramento, California to Serafin and Margaret (Dingman) Ibarra. He was raised in Arizona then come to work for Jackson & Perkins in Wasco in 1967. This is when he met Maria Martinez and they were married August 26, 1968. Robert went to work for Rancher's Cottonseed Oil and became a member of the union and served as the union representative. He later went to work for Giumarra where he worked until his health failed. Robert enjoyed collecting and had a large collection of coins and football cards. He also loved to fish, and would go to Lake Woollomes, Buena Vista Lake and Lake Isabella. He also loved to dance and could sweep you off your feet. Robert believed in living life to the fullest and never held a grudge. Robert had a big heart and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and will be missed by his wife of 39 years, Maria Ybarra, children; Robert Jr. and his wife Sandra of Wasco, Raymond and his wife Anna Maria of Shafter, Mark Anthony and Richard Daniel, both of Wasco, Margaret Elizabeth Gonzalez and her husband Cornelio, Gloria Ruth Benitez and her husband Jose Luis, Erika Rene and Chrystal Diane, all of Wasco; brothers, Serafin, Jr. of Wasco, Harry of Shafter; sisters, Rosemary Nadal of Wasco, Barbara Gomez of Corcoran, Emma Vigil and Martha Navarette, both of Wasco; and 10 grandchildren. His parents, and 1 granddaughter, Maria Isabel Benitez, preceded Robert in death. Holy Rosary will be recited Monday, November 26, 2007 at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be said, Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 10am at St. John's Church. Fr. John will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitations will be held Sunday and Monday from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
