It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Dale Plumley, who passed away on June 30th 2026 at the age of 76. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandpa and brother.

Born in Arkansas on February 23rd 1950 to Boyd and Lena Plumley. Robert was the fifteenth of sixteen children. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Joanne Plumley; daughters Tamara and husband Blake Stevens, Jenna and husband Travis Downing; grandchildren Trent Stevens, Hallye and husband Kellan Rounsavall, Kaitleigh Downing, and Lynndsie Downing; and a great-grandchild on the way, as well as two brothers, and five sisters. He was preceded in death by his daughter Maghan Plumley, his parents, and several siblings.

Robert dedicated his life serving his family and loved ones. Nobody knew him as a stranger. He often left a lasting impression on those whose life he touched. He was a master mechanic and took pride in his thirty-five years of service at Shafter Concrete and Pipe. Other than his family Robert loved all things cars. His love for drag racing turned into leisurely drives through Pismo Coast Village in his ‘23 T-Bucket.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 10 at 11 a.m. at Shafter Church of Christ, 850 Minter Ave, Shafter, CA 93263. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate Robert’s life.

Though Robert is no longer with us, his love, wisdom, and cherished memories will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and remembered forever.
