Obituary

Bob was born November 15, 1935 to Percy and Anna Jackson in Rosiclare, Illinois. He passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, at home on his 72nd birthday. As a young man, he moved to Wyoming where he worked as a cowboy until joining the U.S Army, 11th Airborne Division, serving in Augsburg, Germany. He returned to Wyoming where he worked as a chemical analyst for FMC. He later moved to Bakersfield where he worked for 35 years in local real estate. Bob was a member of the NRA and the Kern River Gun Association. He was a true sportsman and loved hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. He was known to always be available to lend anyone a helping hand - family, friend, or stranger. He is survived by his wife Kitty; his former wife, and the mother of his daughters Frieda Jackson; daughters and son-in-laws Barbara and Bill Stramler, Leann and Mark Meek; grandchildren Cody and Clint Meek, Andrea, Jackson, Joey, Brenna, and Kalie-Rose Stramler; sisters and brother-in-laws Sue and Bill McMasters, Judy and Van Phillippe, and Dinah Highley; and extended family Margaret, Paul, Peter and Chris DeArmond. His Family knows he will now be enjoying Happy Trails and his brother Russ. Dad, we'll miss you and we love you always. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 11:00am at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary, 620 Oregon St, Bakersfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to charity of your choice. In honor of Bob, the family requests that you do something to help someone else, take your dog for a walk, and RELAX!
