Obituary

Rita was born in January 17, 1917 to Felipe and Dolores (Munguia) DeLuna in Beeville, Texas. She worked as a migrant worker in California, Texas and Arizona in 1955 before moving to California permanently in 1962. Rita married her husband of thirty years, Jacinto Gonzalez, who preceded her in death in 1968. Rita's family loved her cooking especially her tamales and potato salad. Rita was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Guadalupanos Society. Rita is survived by her sons, Santana Gonzalez and wife Roselle, Jacinto Gonzalez and wife Sally, Jose Gonzalez and wife Diana, and Isaias Gonzalez; her daughters, Belen Basoco and husband Jack, Anna Breksa and husband Andrew, and Eva Lopez and husband Miguel; her sisters Maria Chavez, Tiofila Galvan, and Juanita Perez. Rita is preceded in death by her son Rene Gonzalez and two grandsons, Mathew who passed in 1995 and Anthony who passed in 2003. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was Sunday, June 1 at 5pm at Peters Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, June 2, 2008 at 10am at St. Johns Catholic Church. Father John Fluetsch officiated the service and interment followed at Wasco Memorial Park.
