Richard Dean Cravens, 73, son of Sampson and Edith (Eacret) Cravens passed away
on November 15, 2025. Richard was born in Bakersfield, CA on October 22, 1952. He
was a beloved member of his family, he always had a story to tell and could always be
counted on to liven up any situation. Richard had many careers throughout his life
ranging from farm work, trucking, and a decades long employment at BJ. He approached
each with the same level of dedication, making lasting impressions and connections with
those he met during his time there. He enjoyed collecting films over the years as well as
having a passion for classic cars, often pointing them out and sharing facts about them.
He will be missed dearly by his surviving family including two children, Lisa Wright and
Steven Cravens, as well as his eight grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and
siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Sampson Cravens, and his
nephew Jerry Martin Jordan Ⅲ. A service will be held at Shafter Memorial Park on
November 29 at 10 am
