Ricardo Lopez was born on July 24, 1945 in Edcouch Texas, to Juan and Flavia Lopez. Born the second to the oldest of twelve children. Ricardo came to California at the age of 19 to find work. He found himself in Shafter, where he met his future bride and love of his life Lydia Gutierrez Lopez at the age of 20. Ricardo and Lydia wed on May 13, 1966. The happy couple had four children together; Teodula, Israel, Margarita, and Lydia Lopez Jr. Ricardo worked in various agricultural jobs when he found himself at Buttonwillow Warehouse. He worked there as a service man for 25 years. Ricardo and Lydia opened their own business in 1992. Ricardo stayed in the industry until he retired in 2013. He worked hard his whole life, starting with the sun every day. He prided himself on providing for his family. Ricardo was a man of honor, strength, and great integrity. He was a friend to all and loved by many. Ricardo is best known for his infectious smile and laughter. Ricardo was married to Lydia for 51 years. He is survived by all of his children, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Ricardo will be greatly missed. His legacy will live on forever in our thoughts and in our hearts. Services will be held on Wednesday January 17, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Thersea Church 300 W. Lerdo Hwy Shafter Ca. 93263
