An angel has passed through our world. We were blessed that God shared him with us. Rex Lee Allen was born in Antlers, OK on October 8, 1935. At the age of 3, the family moved to Shafter. He attended and graduated from Shafter schools, joining the Army thereafter. While stationed in Colorado, he met the love of his life, and never let her go. They married and moved to Norwalk, where they raised their family. In 1974 he decided to move the family back to his hometown of Shafter. He retired after his wife's passing and became ill in 2006. Our father passed away on December 26, 2008, at the age of 73. There are no words to express how greatly he will be missed. He was without question, the most giving and loving man, a true gentleman. One who could always make you smile, there for us and nobody else at anytime or place. What a gift we had, as well as many others, that our lives were touched by this wonderful man. Preceding him in death are his parents, Adolphus and Eddie Ellen; sister, Elizabeth; brothers, Leroy and James, and his loving wife of 43 years, Peggy Allen. He is survived by his children; Bret and April Allen, Keith and Kelly Allen, Brenda Allen, Kim and Cris Langston; who gave him twelve grandsons between them all. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 5th, 2009 at 11am at Peters Funeral Home Chapel.
