Kindly remember in prayer Rev. Aloysius Lucking - retired priest residing in Morongo Valley, who passed away yesterday after a struggle with cancer. May he rest in peace. Father Lucking came to San Bernardino Diocese from the Archdiocese of Miami in 1995 and since then has enjoyed living in California and supplying as needed in parishes in the Low Desert. Born to Anthony Lucking and Barbara Rainardy in Hastings, MN September 30, 1923, Aloysius A. Lucking was ordained to the Order of the Holy Cross at the Crosier House of Studies in Hastings, Nebraska, June 3, 1950, by Most Rev. Louis Kucera, Bishop of Lincoln, Nebraska. He was later incardinated into the Archdiocese of Miami where he continued his priestly ministry until his retirement. Bishop Gerald Barnes expresses his regret at Father Lucking's passing. He is grateful for his presence and service in the Diocese of San Bernardino and asks that you pray for his eternal rest. A Funeral Mass and Rosary will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at the St. Mary of the Valley Catholic Church in Yucca Valley. A Graveside Service will follow to begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Montecito Memorial Park at 3520 E Washington St., Colton, CA 92324.
