A visitation for Reuben will be held on March 18, 2008 from 3-9pm at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary. A Rosary and Mass of a Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, at 10:00am, for Reuben A. Garcia, 81, who passed away in Bakersfield on March 15, 2008 with his children by his side. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Reuben was born on August 20, 1926 in Bakersfield California, to Ramon and Victoria Garcia. He was in the U.S. Army and served in Europe during World War II. He married his loving Wife Carmen on November 30, 1957. Reuben was employed by Southern Pacific Foundry, Kern High School District and The City of Bakersfield. Reuben is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 47 years, Carmen Garcia, son, Hector Garcia and his brother Cayetano Garcia. He is survived by his sons; Bernard Garcia and wife, Virginia, Philip Garcia and wife, Angela; daughters, Grace Williams and husband, Mark, Leticia Ruiz and husband Frank, sister Sally Ornelas, brothers; Eddie and Tony Garcia, brother-in-law, Rodrigo Vazquez and wife, Maria. Reuben is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and nephews and nieces.
