Rene Puga was born to Amador Ochoa and Berta Puga in Bakersfield on July 18, 1984. He graduated from Shafter High School. He and Jessica Lynn Young began sharing their lives on June 5, 2005, and they were married February 13, 2006. Rene was a one of a kind guy and he always made everyone around him happy. He was known for his unique sense of style from his plaid timberlands to his pink timberlands with matching pink shirts. He was a wonderful father, husband, and friend. Rene was preceded in death by 5 siblings. He is survived by his wife, Jessica Puga, and their daughter, Alizay Amary Puga, and his step-son, Jesus Angel Gonzalez; mother, Berta; 12 brothers and sisters; nephew, Ricky Ochoa who was his very best friend; and many other loving family members and friends. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at 6pm, for Rene Puga, age 22, of Shafter, who passed away June 23, 2007, in Shafter. A Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, June 29, 2007, at 10am, at St. Therese Catholic Church. Father Carlos Esquivel OSJ of Our Lady of Guadalupe officiated the service and interment followed at Shafter Memorial Park.
