Rene Munoz (Nene), 74, died on February 28, 2022, at her home in Bakersfield, California. Her funeral service will be held at Saint Francis Roman Catholic Church on Thursday April 7th, 2022, at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. A celebration of life (reception) will be held at Bakersfield Firefighters Hall from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Pallbearers: Bobby Subia Sr., Bobby Subia Jr., Chris Munoz, Lupe Munoz, Omar Rodriguez Sr., and Omar Rodriguez Jr. (Blue). Honorary pallbearer: Orlando Rodriguez. Nene was born on April 29th, 1947. Nene was preceded in death by her parents: Guadalupe L. Munoz and Guadalupe G. Rios, brothers: Bobby Joe Munoz, Sebastian Munoz, Larry Munoz, and Salvador Rios Jr., sisters: Mary-Jane Hernandez and Esther Gutierrez. Nene was survived by her sister, Roseann Rios. Nene was an aunt to many. Nene started working at the age of 14. She was very independent. Her last job was at BARC. She loved to cook and was known for her menudo, tamales, and chile verde. She loved fishing, camping, and music. She left many memories behind. Nene will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
