Raymond L. Wilcox died at age 76 in Bakersfield, California on Saturday February 9, 2013 due to natural causes. He was born July 6, 1936 in Roscoe, Texas to the parents of Oscar and Martha Wilcox. He married November 16, 1958 to Joanne McCleod (deceased in 2003). He is survived by sons, Steven and Michael; brother, Martin; sisters, Mae Robertson, Betty Wood and Sandra Bailie; brothers-in-law, Thomas McCleod and Dick McCleod. He had his own trucking business for over 30 years and worked as a truck driver later in life for a fertilizer company. He lived most of his life in Wasco and was part of the 1952-1953 Wasco High Valley Champion football team. He enjoyed NASCAR races (both watching and attending with cousin Vernon Crawford), going to Morro Bay on family vacations and working around the property. He had many friends and enjoyed helping others. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958. A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 14 at 11am at Wasco Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the United Methodist Church following the service. A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13, from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco
