We'll miss his smile, his presence, his loving touch… Raymond Matta passed away February 20, 2011; born in San Joaquin County, California on January 22, 1973, one of three children born to Socorro (Mendez) and Robert Matta. Raymond attended Shafter High School and was a line-backer for the football team. Some of Raymond's favorite pass times recently was playing video games, watching movies, making sketches and drawings, taking long drives, and eating out at his favorite restaurant "La Mina' with the family. He was a wonderful and caring father, an adoring husband and a loving son and brother. Raymond you will be in our hearts and will continue to be a part of our lives as we continue to share the love and memories you left us. Raymond Matta is survived by his caring mother Socorro; loving wife Lucia; sons Joseph Matta, Raymond Matta Jr., Elijah Matta; daughter Mariah Matta; brother Robert Matta; sister Mary Matta; numerous friends and acquaintances that will miss him. 10:00 am Mass of the Resurrection is scheduled for Raymond Matta, age 38, of Shafter, at St. Therese's Catholic Church with Father Umana officiating, interment will be immediately following at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation is at Peters Funeral Home, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with necessitation of the Holy rosary at 7:000 pm.
