Raymond passed away peacefully at his home from natural causes. He was born in Shafter, California, to George Riley Haworth and Almedia Campbell Haworth. He was the youngest of six siblings, sister Irene Haworth Blankenship, brothers Jessie, Wesley, Joe and George.
He grew up in Shafter attending Richland Elementary and Junior High schools and graduating from Shafter High School in 1957. Soon after graduation he marries his high school sweetheart, Sandy Patrick. They made their home in Shafter and together they raised three children, Lori, Mike and David. In his early years he worked for the family farming and trucking business, later he became a self-employed mechanic and worked in that industry well into his 70s. Dad loved farming, cars, racing cars, camping and waterskiing, baseball and football. He was always happy to help anyone fix or build anything.
In 1975 he married Marie Golleher and they enjoyed many sporting events, BBQs with friends, and casino adventures until her death in 1999. In 2001 he married Betty Caldwell. He and Betty shared many years of Dodger games, dancing, traveling and going to casinos. He adored Betty and lovingly cared for her until her death in 2016. Dad enjoyed helping and taking care of others, never wanting to go anywhere empty handed. During his last years he enjoyed visiting and helping his neighbors, dancing and volunteering at the senior center weekly always bringing his famous sub-sandwiches and fruit salad. He especially loved and was committed to his “Cowboy Church” family where he was known to as the “cookie man” always bringing several dozen cookies each Sunday for the congregation to enjoy. You could never expect to do anything with him on a Sunday, his answer was always “can’t do it, I go to church on Sunday!” In addition to church he was also a Master Mason, Bakersfield Lodge 224.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and siblings and his son Michael Raymond Haworth. He leaves behind his daughter, Lorinda Lee (Lori) McLemore and son-in-law Ted McLemore, son, David Wesley Haworth, and Daughter-in-law, Michele Haworth (Michael’s wife). Six grandchildren; Megan McCort (Matthew), Scott McLemore (Courtney), Andrew Haworth (Tami), Jeremy Haworth, Skye Haworth and Delani Haworth. Nine great-grandchildren; Jude McLemore, Lila McLemore, Jackson McCort, Kinsley McCort, Melani Haworth, Samantha Haworth, Brooklyn Haworth, Colt Haworth and another baby girl Haworth on the way.
Special thanks to his son, David Haworth whose compassionate care and devotion gave dad peace and love in his final weeks, as well as Hoffman Hospice and their wonderful staff. Everyone’s kind words and prayers have been much appreciated and we love you all. Dad is home at last.
Per request a private interment will be at Shafter Memorial Park.
