Ray Fowler, Sr. was born July 16, 1929 in McCallister, Oklahoma to the late James and Jessie Hart Fowler. Mr. Fowler served in the United States Marine Corps. He owned and operated Custom Signs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Corbin and Jewell Cunningham and three brothers, Johnny, Paul and Roy Fowler. Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife of 59 years, Syble Louise Nelms Fowler (whom he married December 16, 1951); two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Debbie Fowler of Redwood City, CA and Buck and Lisa Fowler of Algood, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Patricia Fowler of Algood; four grandchildren, Douglas Fowler, Jr., Nicole Fowler, Casey Fowler and Tori Fowler. Mr. Fowler died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Cooksville, Tennessee. Funeral services for Ray Fowler, Sr., 82, of Cookeville will be held Tuesday, October 11 at 12 noon at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, CA. Interment will follow in Shafter Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
