March 3, 1971 – January 14, 2013 Ray Gilbert Aguirre, Jr. was born March 3, 1971 in Wasco, California to Ray Aguirre and Judith Gaxiola. Ray was raised in Wasco and attended Wasco elementary schools and Wasco High School with the Class of 1988. He worked in the oil fields for over 20 years, working his way up to foreman. He started out with Neighbors Drilling, Advanced Oil Services and retired due to health reasons from Jacobs Oil Field Services. Ray hobbies were drawing with pen and pencil, he liked drawing friend's and family's portraits and he would give it to them as a gift. Ray loved being with his family and friends, having barbecues and hanging out. Ray was an avid Steelers fan and wouldn't miss any of their games. Ray Gilbert Aguirre, Jr. was preceded in death by his grandparents, Larry Ancienega and Rose and Tom Gaxiola. He survived by his father, Ray Gilbert Aguirre, Sr. and wife Susie; mother, Judith Guadalupe Gaxiola; grandmother, Anita Arceniga; fiancé, Diana Lopez; son, Johnny Aguirre; daughters, Justina Aguirre-Salazar, Meli Ray Aguirre-Salazar; step-daughters, Skylynn Bernal and Serenity Bernal; step-son, Ricky Samarripas; brother, Lawrence Edward Aguirre, Sr., sister, Judy Marie Aguirre; half-sister, Jennifer Aguirre; granddaughter, Amy Samarripas; and many other loving family members including cousins, nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 6:30pm at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco for Ray Gilbert Aguirre, age 41, of Wasco, who passed away on January 14, 2013 in Bakersfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church. Father John Fluetsch will officiate.
