Raul Hinojosa was born February 26, 1932 in Hidalgo County, Texas to Tomas and Benita (Salinas) Hinojosa. Raul grew up and attended schools in Dallas and worked for the railroads. Raul married Ofelia Garcia in June of 1954 in Mexico and they moved to California in 1957. Raul worked for Belridge Farms for many years. He liked watching sports on TV especially boxing. He loved being with friends, visiting and spending time with his family. Raul's family was the focus of his life and he was like a father to his grandchildren. He was a great provider and will be missed for the love and support he gave. Raul is survived by is wife of 53 years, Ofelia Hinojosa of Wasco; son Raul Hinojosa of Mexico; daughter Magdalena Alaniz of Texas, brothers, Ricardo and Tomas, both of Texas; sisters, Socorro Alaniz and Silvia Rodriguez, both of Texas and Luisa Hinojosa of California; 7 grandchildren, Raul Alejandro, Eddie, Monica, Jesus Jorge, Raul, Marianna, and Magdalena; 11 great grandchildren; Jesus Candelario, Nayla, Raul Cruz, Javier, Raul, Tatiana, Jesus Adrian, Noel, Cassandra, Angel, Edgar. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Clarita and his parents. Holy Rosary was recited Saturday, December 22, at 5pm at Peters Funeral Home for Raul Salinas Hinojosa, age 75, of Wasco who passed away December 19, in Bakersfield. Visitation was held Friday, December 21, from 5 to 8pm and Saturday, noon to 8pm. Burial was held at Palm Valley Cemetery, Pharr, Texas.
