Raul G. Gutierrez was born September 19, 1957 in Pharr Texas to Sylvestra (Garcia) and Jesus Gutierrez. He came to Kern County with his parents at the age of 2. He attended the local schools and then married his wife Florencia in 1983. They settled in Wasco where they raised their 6 children. Raul loved music; he was a drummer with "Los Burgenos" Band which originated in Pharr Texas. He was considered to be a "Best Friend" to all family members, was a hard worker and never lost his smile that greeted everyone. He and his family are members of Westside Family Fellowship in Wasco. Raul was preceded in death by both of his parents; dad Jesus (1986), mother Sylvestra (1999); brothers, Edelmiro Gutierrez (2004) and Eleazar (2005). He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Florencia; sons, Raul Gutierrez Jr., and wife, Elsa, Jesus, Edelmiro and Emiliano Gutierrez; daughters, Mirandy Cantu and husband Bobby Pugh, Cristal Gutierrez and husband Victor; brothers Antonio, Ruben and Armando Gutierrez; sisters, Olivia Alaniz, Ortencia Hernandez, Rosa Garcia and Reyna Hernandez; grandchildren, Emily Duran, David Duran Jr., Raul Gutierrez III, Evan Gurrola, Nathan Sanchez, Makayla Gutierrez and Noah Sanchez. Church services will be held for Raul G. Gutierrez, age 51, Monday, April 27th – 10am at Westside Family Fellowship in Wasco with interment immediately following at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 26th – 2 to 8 pm.
