Raquel Morales Rodriguez was born September 23, 1929 in Tamaulipas, Mexico to Estela (Garcia) and Pedro Morales, one of seven children. She was raised and attended school in the town of Ciudad Victoria. She met her future husband, Luis Rodriguez, while teaching in Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas. They were married November 20, 1949 and they resided in Miguel Aleman until 1953 when they moved to Edcouch, Texas. Raquel worked as a school teacher while living in Mexico and worked in agriculture in Texas. In 1964 Luis and Raquel moved to Wasco and Raquel served her family as a homemaker. Family was her whole world and she will be missed by her loving daughters and grandchildren. Raquel was preceded in death by her husband, Luis in 2001; parents and 4 siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Raquel (Rocky) & husband Jesse Acebedo, Marta & husband Randy Poe and Mary Lou Rodriguez; grandchildren, Bobby Salinas & wife Sylvia, Michael Salinas, Rodney Maston, Aimee Poe Spalding & husband Mike, Kacee Poe Badgley & husband Jonathan, and Mandee Poe, great grandchildren, Aaron, Aidan and Eric Salinas; brother, Raul Morales of Mexico; and sister, Estela Barrera of Texas; Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 9 at 7pm at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco for Raquel M. Rodriguez, age 80, who passed away March 7, in Wasco. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 10, at 1:30pm at St. John's Church. Fr. John Fluetsch will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 9, from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
