Ramona Lopez was born August 11, 1953 in Wasco to Frank and Eulalia Lerichi. She was raised in Wasco and attended Wasco local schools. Ramona met Antonio R. Ruiz in July, 2001 and they were engaged in February 2014. She worked at Wasco State Prison from 1998 to 2015 and for Jackson & Perkins from 1973 to 1997. Ramona was a faithful servant of God who prayed her rosary often. She was also a classy woman who enjoyed loving on her family, keeping a clean home and baking. She worked hard for what she had, took good care of what she earned and always looked ahead to achieve more. Ramona Lopez is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eulalia Lerichi, husband, Juan C. Lopez; brother Pete Lerichi. She is survived by her daughters, Diana Lopez of Wasco , Sandra Ybarra of Wasco, Jessica Lopez Saldana of Bakersfield, Lucia C. Lopez of Shafter; siblings, Ellen Medina, Julian Castillo, Tina Aguilera, Frank Lerichi, Armida Castillo, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grand child. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held on Friday, November 27, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church for Ramona Lopez, age 62, of Wasco, who passed away on November 21, 2015 in Bakersfield. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday November 28, 2015 at 10am at St. John's Catholic Church. Fr. Raul Sanchez officiated and interment followed at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation was held on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Peters Funeral Home.
