IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rachel Anne
Slape
July 30, 1994 – December 2, 2022
Rachel Anne Slape was born in Bakersfield, CA to Boake Slape and Vickie (Amos) Berry on July 30. 1994. She was born with the most beautiful full head of blond hair you've ever seen. She was always way smarter beyond her years, and sometimes we'd ask her "how old are you". As a little girl, her life revolved around spending as much time as possible with her Grandpa and Grandma Amos on their large farm. They grew a huge garden every year, they raised chickens, quail, turkeys, pigs, you name it and she was right there by her Papa's side. She so loved the outdoors and being with nature and animals and that stayed with her as an adult. After graduating from Frontier High school, she enrolled in fast paced vet tech program at SJVC, where she graduated at the top of her class. With jobs hard to come by and then the Covid crisis, she enrolled full-time to on-line classes through Uniteck College and was completing courses for her BSN. She was only a year away from completion. Rachel had the kindest, most generous soul of anyone you would ever meet. In her free time, she fostered animals through the local animal shelters until they were old enough to be adopted. She was fostering 3 little male kittens at the time of her unexpected passing.
Rachel was an amazing daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend. She is preceded in death by her grandmother Demple Amos in June 2011. She is survived by her father Boake Slape, mother Vickie (Amos) Berry, brother Stephen Berry, grandfather Doyle Amos, aunt Brenda Clinton (Delbert), aunt Sandy Tucker (Billy), aunt Cheryl Mitchell, and many, many loving cousins and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts and prayers.
