Obituary

Policarpio Camarillo Gonzalez August 30, 1925 - February 1, 2007 Policarpio C. Gonzalez was born August 30, 1925 to Telesforo and Mariana Gonzalez in Kingsville, Texas. In 1943 to 1946 he proudly served in the US Navy during WWII as a Navy Seabee. He married Maria Elena in 1971 and had three children, Daniel Gonzalez, Elizabeth Garcia and Mariana Sobolewski and moved to Wasco in 1972 where he was employed at Superior Farms for many years, until he retired, in 1984. Pa, was what his grandchildren called him, had a unique sense of humor, love having family barbecues and just being with his family around him. He loved watching his novelas and being in his garden. He always stressed the importance of joining the military to young people. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Maria Elena, and his sons Tony, Policarpio Jr., Telesforo Gonzales and Daniel Gonzalez; daughters Elizabeth Garcia, Mariana Sobolewski, Maria I. Martinez, Enriquetta Delgadillo, Maria Gonzales and Sonia Mikesel. He was preceded in death by his parents Telesforo and Mariana Gonzalez and 6 brothers and sisters. He was the last surviving sibling of 7. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held at Peters Funeral Home on Feb 6, at 6:00 p.m. for Policarpio C. Gonzalez, age 81, of Wasco, who passed away Feb 1, 2007 in Bakersfield. Mass of the Christian Burial was said Feb 7, at 10:00 a.m. Father Jim Kirchner officiated the service and interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park. A visitation was held at Peters Funeral Home on Feb 6, at 2 - 8pm.
