Pierre "Pete" Etchegoimberry was born June 3, 1920 in Helette, France in the Basque region. Pete has been a resident of Bakersfield for the last 50 years, first working as a sheepherder and later he began his own landscaping business. He liked watching motorcycle racing and sporting events. Pete also enjoyed fishing in Bishop. Pete married Florence Nell Curry December 28, 1970. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Florence Etchegoimberry; daughters, Lynnell Dunkin, Janice Langley, Melody Morris and Connie Ramsdell; 9 grandchildren and many loving great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. His son, Curtis Larner who passed away in 2009, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2001 at 1pm at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary for Pierre Etchegoimberry, age 90, of Bakersfield who passed away January 8, 2011. Pastor Greg Haslow of the First Assembly of God Church will officiate and interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, River Blvd.
