Peter Lawrence Provencio was born to parents, Pedro and Mercy Provencio, on August 9, 1930 in Lerdo, CA. He attended school in Wasco and graduated from Wasco High before his enlistment in the US Army in 1951, during which he served in the Korean War. Upon his return home, he married Lucy Provencio on September 23, 1956 in Wasco, CA where the couple started their family. Peter had many skills; over the years he worked as a telephone repairman, a barber, he put in several years at the Wasco Police Department, and he worked as a Deputy for the Kern County Sheriffs Department as an officer and Bailiff for 20 years, all while operating his telephone answering service from his home. Peters family grew even larger when he married Monica (Mora) Provencio in Shafter, CA on June 18, 2008. Family and friends will remember him as a sweet man, and a diligent, hard worker. He loved to share stories from his past and spend time with his grandchildren. When he wasnt working, Peter enjoyed tending to his garden, and cleaning his gun collection. He will be dearly missed. Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Mercy; his wife, Lucy (2000); and his daughter, Rosanne (2016). He is survived by his wife, Monica; his children, Michael Provencio, Patrick Provencio and husband Howard Tucker, Juan Vasquez and wife Denice, Michael Vasquez and wife Nichole, Bobby Vasquez and partner Vanisha, Irma Vasquez and partner Alex, and Maria Vasquez; along with his grandchildren, Anthony, DeAna, Sarahi, Miguel, Juan, Emilio, Alex, Ruben, and Haley; his great grandchildren, Destiny and Alexis; 2 brothers, Roque and Francis Provencio; and of course his littlest companion, his foot warmer dog, Jill.
