Peggy Lee Edwards, a 51-year resident of California and 35-year resident of Twentynine Palms, died Aug. 17, 2011, at Hi-Desert Medical Center. She was 63 years old. The daughter of Jack M. Roberts and Mary Traub-Winehell, she was born July 8, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio. Mrs. Edwards was a caregiver with the state of California for 20 years. She loved helping children and the elderly. Her father, Jack M. Roberts, and niece Janie Birdwell preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Robert H. Edwards of Twentynine Palms; daughter Kelly Cole of Spokane, Wash.; daughter Jennifer R. Tingsly of La Port, Texas; son Robert W. Edwards of Twentynine Palms; daughter Kristi D. Edwards of San Antonio, Texas; son Dan R. Edwards of Newark, Ohio; mother and stepfather Mary and Gordon Winchell of Stanton; sister Pat Schmoll of Stanton; sister Pam Verga of Roundup, Mont.; brother James Roberts of Vancouver, Wash.; brother Thomas Roberts of Vancouver, Wash.; sister Jacque Mackaman of Vancouver, Wash.; brother Tim Roberts of Salton Beach; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
