Pearl passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, in Bakersfield, CA. She was born in Willis, Nebraska, to Carl Edward Christensen and Dora Helena (Smith) Christensen, August 16, 1924. She was a loving wife to Keith Nylander, who she selflessly cared for 27 years after his dibilitating stroke. In her younger years she was involved with Di Giorgio School PTA,Arvin Womens Club, the "Bridge Clubs"and a proud member of The Bakersfield Assistance League. She is a past member of The Arvin Congregational Church where her husband Keith was a board member. Pearl was a loving, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and friend. Pearl is survived by Steve and (Debbie) Owens of Bakersfield, CA; Greg and (Linda) Morrison of Fresno, CA ; (Vic) and Jewell Nylander of Garland, TX ; sister Bernice Harsted of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Keith Nylander, Son, Karl Nylander, Daughter, Sandra Withrow and sister Doris Bach.
