IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pauline
Elrich
June 21, 1931 – January 7, 2014
Pauline Elrich, 82, was born to Jacob T. and Manila Kroeker in Bakersfield, CA. She attended East Bakersfield High School and was employed in a local retail store upon graduation. She met Richard, her husband to be, at a church youth function. They were married a few years later. Pauline adapted to life on the farm, feeding the cows, driving tractor, and reheating meals when her husband did not arrive home in time for dinner. Her life soon became centered around family. Her firstborn, Diane, died at one year of age, of encephalitis. The sorrow of that loss was eventually displaced by the births of three healthy children: Daryl, Sheri and Ted. Pauline was involved in her community through the PTAs at Greeley and Rio Bravo-Greeley Schools and many ministries of the Rosedale Mennonite Brethren Church, later Rosedale Bible Church. She served most of her adult life in the Rosedale Ladies Fellowship and was the Sparks Secretary of the Rosedale Bible Awana Clubs for 33 years. Richard and Pauline spent time early in their retirement volunteering in the ministry of Hartland Christian Camp. Pauline was at Richard's side when he served on the camp's Board of Directors for many years and assisted Richard when he served a year as Interim Camp Director. Until recently, Richard and Pauline spent their summers salmon fishing on the Pacific, most frequently at Moss Landing, Fort Bragg, or Trinidad. Their summer family included the many friends they camped with annually at each location.Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lloyd & Joe Kroeker; & her daughter, Diane. Surviving her are husband Richard Elrich; children Daryl Elrich (Becky), Sheri Sardo (Carlos), Ted Elrich (Penny); grandchildren Brent Elrich, Doug Elrich (Amanda), Tricia Saba (Anthony), Keith Sardo (Emily), Denise Sardo, Michelle Elrich, & Paul Elrich; great-grand children, Haley & Eric Saba, Ella & Asher Sardo, & baby Elrich to be; and brother Lee Kroeker (Carole). The family wishes to thank the staffs of Hoffman Hospice and Agape In Home Care for the excellent care provided during Pauline's final weeks. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Shafter Memorial Park at 10:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at Rosedale Bible Church at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hartland Christian Camp or the Rosedale Ladies Fellowship c/o Rosedale Bible Church.
