IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul Dean
Tiner
March 1, 1931 – August 30, 2013
Paul Dean Tiner went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday August 30, 2013 at 7:12AM at the San Joaquin Memorial hospital in Bakersfield, CA. Paul was 82 years old and was a loved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He was born on March 1, 1931 in Ada, OK. Paul was a member of the Wasco Union High School class of 1949. He worked for over 40 years as a furniture salesman and manager for McMahans furniture store in Wasco and he retired from the Broadway department store in Bakersfield after 29 years. Paul was married to his beautiful wife, Minta Louise McGuire on July 2, 1950 in Las Vegas. They were married for 63 years. Paul was a well known member of the Wasco community as many people bought furniture from him at the Western Furniture store, McMahons furniture store and then the Broadway in Bakersfield. He always knew what to say and enjoyed visiting with his customers. They all enjoyed Paul. Paul was saved in 1951 and was a member of the Central Missionary Baptist church in Wasco for over 40 years and recently a member of the Shafter Missionary Baptist church. He served in the position of church treasurer for over 30 years. Paul loved to talk about the Lord and wanted others to know about Jesus. He loved the Lord with all His heart and soul. He was a dedicated church member, a kind friend, a wonderful husband, a sweet dad and now a new citizen of Heaven. Our loss is Heaven's gain and he wanted it that way. He has longed to be with Jesus for several years now. We will miss him. Paul was preceded in death by his father Houston Tiner and mother, Hattie Tiner. He is survived by his wife Minta Tiner of Wasco and children Paul Dwaine Tiner and wife Robin Tiner of Bakersfield, CA, Linda Jeanelle Jones and husband Russell Jones of Bakersfield, CA and John Tiner and wife Stacy Tiner of Visalia, CA. He had thirteen grand children and three great grand children. The funeral will be held at Shafter Missionary Baptist church on Friday September 6th at 11 A.M. Graveside services will be at the Wasco cemetery at 10AM. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco. The family is thankful and grateful to the wonderful folks at the Rehabilitation Center of Bakersfield for their love and kindness over the last few years.
