Paul Deshields was born in Lead Hill, Arkansas on November 9, 1930 to parents Dennie DeShields and Ruby (Austin) DeShields. Paul was a hard worker and provider for his family. Paul started working at a young age and continued to work until a recent fall prevented him from working anymore. He enjoyed gambling at local casinos and traveling to Las Vegas. Some would say, Paul had a lucky hand. Recently, he valued his time with his children- playing bingo at Golden Living. Paul passed away peacefully on July 4, 2020 in Bakersfield. Paul is survived by his sons, Michael Wilson, Rodney (Delinda) DeShields; daughters, Terri (Mike) Goertzen, Sheila (Jesse) Torres; brother, John Dean DeShields; 16 grandchildren, many great- grandchildren, many great- great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Wilson; parents, Dennie & Ruby DeShields; sons, Thomas Wilson, Bobby Wilson, Donald Wilson; daughter, Patsy Wilson; brothers, Homer, Virgil, D.W.; sisters, Opal, Cuma, Lucine.
