Obituary

Pat Winter was born on April 22, 1935 to Raymond and Mable Lucas Davis in Carnegie, OK. Pat went to join her husband, Norval, in the presence of the Lord on March 23, 2008. Pat had been battling numerous illnesses for the last year and the Lord was gracious and good when he said "My child, it's time." Pat was surrounded by her loving family who were all continuously by her side. Pat worked for several years at Bank of America and was a loyal employee and friend. She retired from the bank when her husband, Norval decided to semi-retire so they could travel together, which they did often. They made numerous trips throughout the United States and later traveled to New Zealand, Tahiti, Bora-Bora and Hawaii. After the death of her husband Norval in 2005, Pat continued to travel to such places such as Washington D.C. and her final trip a cruise to Alaska in 2007. Pat continued to work helping her son Carroll at his shop, Winter Automotive by keeping their books. Pat played cards weekly with a group of local ladies and was also a faithful and long time member of the Valley Bible Church where she was involved in many activities there. Pat truly lived a Christian life and was an inspiration to many. Pat is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Raymona Houston; and her devoted husband, Norval. Pat is survived by her sons, Carroll Winter and wife, Linda, Kent Winter; four grandchildren, Tracy Winter Brewer and husband, Kevin, Phillip Winter and wife, Melissa, Desiree Winter and Jamie Winter. Pat is also survived by her sister, Jan Mansfield and husband, Carl; her sister-in-law, Ruth Searcy and husband, Vernon; and six beautiful great grandchildren, Bailey, Brady, Andrew and Becky Brewer, Kaylee and Karlee Winter. Pat is lastly survived by several nieces, nephews and friends who all loved their "Aunt Pat." Pat (mother, grandmother, sister and friend) will be greatly missed but we will rejoice at her presence with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at Valley Bible Church 350 Pine St. Shafter, CA 93263 on Thursday March 27, 2008 at 11am.
