Obituary

PATRICIA DELLEIJA MARCH 17, 1913 – MAY 19, 2007 Patricia Del Leija was born March 17, 1913 to Bernardino and Refugia (Guerrero) Delleija in El Paso, Texas. She came to California in 1937 and worked as a farm laborer in Agriculture for over 35 years. Patricia "Chicha" will always be remembered for her Sunday soup, Chile con carne, and sweet treats for the children. Even though she never had children of her own, her home was always full of children and loved ones. She was our second mother and was considered the matriarch of the family. We will all miss her love and support, and she will always be in our hearts. Chicha departed this life leaving behind Martha Aguirre, her niece and caretaker, and other nieces; Isabel Barela, Ramona Prendez, Rosa Garza, Lorenza Garcia. She also leaves nephews Ignacio Hernandez, Angel Zuniga, Paul Zuniga, Ralph Zuniga, and innumerable grand nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held at Peters Funeral Home on May 22, at 6:00 p.m. for Patricia Delleija, age 94, of Wasco, who passed away May 19, 2007, in Wasco. Mass of the Christian Burial was Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. Father John Fluetsch of St. John Catholic Church officiated the service and interment follow at Wasco Memorial Park.
