Otis Roy Johnson, age 85, born November 7, 1926 at Holcomb, Missouri to Anna Mae (Parish) and Glen Johnson passed away November 18, 2011 at home in Mariposa, California. Otis married Evelyn Ursery on December 24, 1943, and she preceded him in death on July 17, 2008. He is survived by son, Otis (Butch) Johnson Jr. of Mariposa and daughter-in-law Geniece Johnson; grandson, Nathan Johnson and granddaughter-in-law Terri Johnson; great grandchildren, Natasha Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Nichole Johnson; son, Marshall (Chuck) Johnson of Bakersfield and daughter-in-law Susan Johnson; grandson, Jeremiah Johnson; granddaughter, Jodi Johnson; sister, Betty White of Jackson, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by brothers, James, Glenn, Ebon, Robert, Melvin, Lotis; sisters, Jennetta, Pauline, and Bernice; and granddaughter Ronda Johnson. He owned and operated several businesses in Wasco including Big Star Market and J & J Market. He was the Executive Director of Wasco Housing Authority for eleven years and served on the Board of Directors for Wasco Affordable Housing until 2010. He served two terms, 1976 and 1988, on the Wasco City Council, and served two terms, 1982 and 1988, as Mayor of Wasco. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years, a charter member of 43 years of the Elks Lodge, and a member of the Lions Club. A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 26 at 12noon at Wasco Memorial Park.
