Oscar Cazares Luna was born February 10, 1938 in Sabinas Hgo., Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Anita (Luna) and Patricio Cazares, one of 7 children. Oscar came to California when he was 26 years old, first to Indio then settling in Wasco. He and Prudencia De Leon were married February 27, 1974 and raised their children in Wasco. Oscar worked in agriculture for Blackwell Land Company and Paramount Farms. Oscar loved to go to the casinos, Tache Palace and Eagle Mountain, being his favorites. He also enjoyed talking on his CB Radio; El Pistolero was his handle. Oscar is survived by his wife, Prudencia; sons, Jose Luis Hernandez & wife Angie of Oregon, Steven Hernandez & wife Nancy of Wasco, Michael Vasquez & wife Becky of Bakersfield; daughters, Manuela & husband Fred Ramirez of Bakersfield, Irene Reyes & fiancé Bill Schulz of Fontana and Anna & husband Adrian Dominguez of Bakersfield; brother, Hector Cazares Luna; sisters, Indelia Cazares Luna and Diamantina Cazares Luna; 23 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. Oscar was preceded in death by his son, Albert Hernandez; parents, Patricio and Anita; and 3 siblings, Clemente, Consuelo and Benito. Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 10 at 6:30pm at Peters Funeral Home for Oscar Cazares Luna, age 76, of Wasco who passed away July 7, 2014 in Bakersfield with his family by his side. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 11 at 10am at St. John's Church. Fr. Raul will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10 from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
