Oralia Rios was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 20, 1947 to Librado & Manuela (Pereida) Benavides. She attended school in Texas and met her husband Alfredo Rios. Oralia was 66 years old when she passed away on August 17, 2013 in Bakersfield, California. She was a resident of Shafter for many years and will be missed my numerous friends and family members. Oralia Rios was survived by her husband, of 43 years, Alfredo Rios, daughters Sandy Rios (Oscar Gonzalez) and Yvonne (Oscar) Saldana; granddaughters, Salina & Sabrina Gonzalez and Samantha, Savannah & Serina Saldana; sisters, Jessie Juarez, Vila Barboza, Janie Huerta, and Manuela Delgadillo. Preceeded in death by her parents, Librado & Manuela Benavides; brother, Encarnacion Benavides and sister Josie Barrera. The Mass of the Resurrection was officiated by Padre Pedro Umana at St. Therese on Thursday August 22, 2013 at 10am. A visitation was held at Peters Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday August 21, 2013 at 4pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm.
