Oralia was born in Laredo, Texas on February 4, 1933 to Guadalupe (Martinez) and Casimiro Nava. Oralia was married to Jose and together they raised their three children in Texas. They moved to California in 1982 and enjoyed watching their family grow. Oralia would spend her time in her garden and had an amazing green thumb. She loved sharing her talent of sewing and crocheting and made many pillows, blankets and quilts for her children and grandchildren. Oralia would make some amazing pies, empanadas, jelly and cookies for her family and enjoyed teaching them how to make them also. She treasured her time with her grandchildren teaching them how to make her pancakes, pies and when they were old enough she would take them out on the road and show them how to drive. She enjoyed reading, watching novelas and playing the slot machines at the casino. Oralia especially enjoyed family cruises and visiting Texas where many memories were made. Oralia was a librarian at the local school for five years. She attended the First Baptist Church and loved to read her bible. Oralia was 82 years old when she passed away on June 26, 2015 in Bakersfield, California. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Jose; son Omar; daughters Sandra (Sal) Guandique and Noemy (Joseph) Aaron Sr.; grandchildren Cindy, Omar Jr., Ashley, Tyler, Phoebe, Belle, Joel and Julissa; 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Mel. A Graveside Service will be held at Shafter Memorial Park on Thursday July 2, 2015 at 10am preceded by viewing on Wednesday July 1, 2015 from 4-8pm at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Shafter, CA.
