Omega Smith entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Friday afternoon, December 20th, after her courageous battle with cancer . She was born on January 27, 1936, in V an Alstyne, Texas. A long time resident of Shafter, Omega graduated from Shafter High School in 1953. She was employed by the Richland School District as a secretary for many years. Omega married the love of her life, Kenny Smith, in 1958 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were happily married for 61 years. Omega was a member of Valley Bible Church where she faithfully worshipped and served many years. She especially loved to serve in the kitchen. She also cooked for Kiwanis. Omega was a wonderful cook who lovingly prepared Sunday dinners for her family to enjoy together each week. Together Kenny and Omega were blessed with two children: daughter Connie Crown-Daniel, married to Kenny Daniel; and son, Tim Smith married to Kristi. She is also survived by their honorary adopted daughter , Nancy Spiva. She shared a legacy of love with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Casey Crown and wife, Keri; Matt Crown and wife, Amanda; Jay Daniel and wife, Mika; Megan Guarducci and husband, Ryan; and Kayla Redington and husband, Elliott; great grandkids: Alyssa, Konner, Maxwell, Aurora, Brett, Ian, and recently born "Little Omega" to carry on her great grandmother's name. Omega was greatly loved and respected as wife, mother, "Super Grandma", family and friend.
