Oliver Lee Flynn was born December 12, 1919 in Humphrey, Arkansas to Oliver and Sallybell (Harvill) Flynn. Oliver married Virginia Teer on October 18, 1941 and this year they would have celebrated 66 years of marriage. They moved to Shafter in 1960. Oliver worked as a farmer and as a hunting guide during duck season. He worked for Charley Carlton at the Union 76 Station on Central Valley for 21 years. Oliver is survived by his wife, Virginia Flynn; daughters, Shelby Eichman and husband Jim, Bonnie Wund and husband Bob; grandson, George Eichman; granddaughters, Dana Eichman Hoppe and husband Mark, Christine Wund and Deborah Wund; great granddaughter, Angelica Eichman; brothers-in-law, Brose Teer and Bill Teer; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held Wednesday, July 11, at 10am at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Jim Williams of the First Southern Baptist Church will officiated and interment will follow. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 10 at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter from 2pm to 8pm.
