Octavio "Toby" Sierra passed away January 25, 2011 in Wasco CA; born June 8, 1960 in Fabens,Texas to Enedina (Salcido) and Manuel R. Sierra. Toby moved to Wasco at the age of 14 and attended Wasco Union High School; he was on the Track/Field, Shot Put and Discus Team while attending Wasco Union High. After graduating he was employed with Jackson & Perkins, Lowe Brothers and did some part time work at the local Taco Bell. Toby was well known in the community as he was an avid walker and a bike rider around town, he made sure to stop and say hello to people in the community whenever possible; his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews would receive daily calls from him, he was making sure everyone was ok before he started his daily walks. Toby shared his smile with anyone he met and would offer encouragement and confidence, especially to his long time girl friend Brenda Jones who He loved very much. Toby would always tell people to go to Church on Sundays. Octavio "Toby" Sierra is preceded in death by his mother Enedina Sierra (1994) and his father Manuel R. Sierra (2001); brother Pedro Sierra(1989); half brother Kiko Sierra (1998 ) and is survived by his dear and caring girlfriend Brenda Jones; brothers Victor Sierra and his wife Crystal from Shafter, Javier Sierra and his wife Gracie from Tipton, Ramiro Sierra and his wife Andrea from Arizona, James Sierra and his wife Clara from Wasco, Jesse Sierra and his wife Maria from Wasco; sister Esther and her husband Joe Hinojosa from Shafter, Reynalda and her husband Salvador Gomez from Sacramento, Enedina and her husband Alfredo Garcia from Bakersfield; half brother Pilar Sierra from New Mexico; half sister Licha and her husband Gene Lopez from Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, many friends and acquaintances. All who shared a smile with Toby will miss him dearly. Pastor Johnny Martinez of Westside Family Fellowship will officiate a Graveside Service for Octavio "Toby" Sierra, age 50, of Wasco, on Monday, January 31, 2011 – 2pm at Wasco Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Peters Funeral Home -Wasco, Saturday, January 29th from 2 to 6pm with comforting words offered by Pastor Danny Scott of Free Will Baptist Church at 5pm. Visitation also on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm.
