Nora Eskew, age 91, safe in the arms of Jesus, arrived in paradise at 10:45am, on Sunday, September 30, 2007. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother. Nora was preceded in death by two husbands, Raymond F. Wilson and Arvil "Pete" Eskew; two brothers, Oscar and Jack Cross; one granddaughter, Ronda Jean Clark. She is survived by two sisters and two brothers and their spouses, Nadine and Earl Marlett, Lilly and Larry Prusso, T. J. and Roma Cross and Bob and Darla Cross. One daughter, and two sons and their spouses, Glenda and Kelly Goff, Eldon and Linda Wilson, and Ronald and Jean Wilson. Seven grandchildren and their spouses, Nelda and Michael Rico, Mark and Patricia Goff, Dana and Greg Hill, Eldonna and Tony Bonnejo, Kymberly and Scott Plankenhonn, Sheryt and Keith Cannes, and Jennifer Wilson. Eleven great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Nora was a member of the Church of Christ in Shafter and enjoyed playing games and church activities. In past times she was very active in senior citizens programs. A funeral service was held at Peters Funeral Home on Friday, October 5, 2007, at 2pm, for Nora Eskew of Shafter. Herb Watkins of the Church of Christ officiated at the service and interment followed at Shafter Memorial Park.
