Nieves Carrasco of Shafter went to be with his wife, Petra Espino Carrasco on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Nieves was born on May 25, 1925 in Midland, Texas to Patrick and Francesca Carrasco. Nieves will be remembered as a friendly, hardworking man who enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He is survived by his children: Dan, Andrew, and Ron Carrasco, Virginia Huckaby, Cathi Hall, also Johnny, Richard, and Tommy Nieto. Nieves also had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He recently celebrated his 89th birthday alongside family and friends. He will be greatly missed, but his jovial character and the memories of time spent together will continue to be cherished by those who loved him. Viewing will be July 24, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00pm, Rosary will be 6:00pm at Peters Funeral home in Shafter, CA. Mass will be held Friday July 25, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Therese's Church in Shafter, CA. Reception will be held at Shafter Vets Hall at Noon to 3:00pm.
