Nicolas Sanchez Jr. was born May 21, 1964, in Wasco, CA, to Nicolas & Carmen (Aguilera) Sanchez. Nick entered God's presence on March 18, 2007, after his long battle with cancer. Nick enjoyed listening to country music and spending time with family and friends. He attended all local schools. Mr. Sanchez worked in the construction business for many years doing drywall. He was well known here in Wasco as "Big Nick". Nick was one who everyone could count on for a helping hand. When there was family get together, Nick's voice would echo above that of everyone else. Everyone knew when Nick arrived. Nick loved collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia. Nick was the #1 NFL Dolphin Fan. He enjoyed watching football, basketball and Nascar. Whenever possible, Nick was on the first ride out to the beach to go ride quads at the sand dune in Pismo Beach or be on the first boat out to deep-sea fishing. Nicolas Sanchez Jr. was preceded in death by his grandparents Magdeleno & Maria Guadalupe Aguilera, grandfather; Genaro Sanchez: grandmother; Alicia Rodriguez, Uncle: Nicolas Aguilera and niece Alyssa Nunez. Nick is survived by his parents, Nicolas Sr. & Carmen Sanchez and step-grandfather Guberto Rodriguez. His siblings: Margaret Sanchez, Anna Nunez and Husband Tony, Arturo Sanchez and Jose Sanchez. Nieces: Stephanie, Jessica, Sonia and Kristina Garcia, Wendy Sanchez, Anissa Olivarez and Savannah Nunez. Nephews: Matthew Sanchez and AJ Nunez. Great Niece: Esperanza Salinas and many aunt, uncles, cousins and friends. Nick loved his God, family and his community. Wonderful memories of his kind, deep voice, and gentlemanly ways will linger in our hearts forever. His loving spirit will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Hoffman Hospice for their tender loving care they provided Nick in his final weeks. And all of those who shared their kind words and support during this difficult time. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was at Peters Funeral Home Chapel on March 21, 2007 at 7:00pm for Nicolas Sanchez Jr., age 42, of Wasco, who passed away March 18, 2007, in Wasco, CA. Mass of the Christian Burial was held on March 22, at 10:00am at St. John's Catholic Church. Father John Fluetsch officated the service and interment followed at Wasco Memorial Park. A visitation was held at Peters Funeral Home Chapel on March 21, 2007 at 2-8pm.
