Nicolas Aguilar Apodaca was born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, to Nicolas and Maria Aguilar, on March 7, 1969. He came to Shafter in 1986, and worked as a farm laborer for various companies. Nicolas is survived by his father, Nicolas Aguilar of Mexico; mother, Maria; wife, Sara Aguilar; son, Nicolas Aguilar Tellez; daughter, Desire Michel Aguilar Ramirez; brothers, Francisco Javier and Jesus Francisco Aguilar; sisters, Maria and Alma Aguilar; one grandchild all of Shafter. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held at Peters Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at 7pm, for Nicolas Aguilar Apodaca, age 38, of Shafter, who passed away March 12, 2007, in Shafter. A Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at 1:30pm. Father Pedro Umana of St. Therese's Catholic Church officiated at the service and interment was private.
