IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nettie Pauline
Butcher
August 13, 1940 – December 13, 2025
Nettie Pauline Butcher, known affectionately to all as Nettie, departed from this world on December 13, 2025, at the age of 85, in Shafter, California. Born on August 13, 1940, in Mesa, Arizona, Nettie's life was a tapestry of love, faith, and vibrant church involvement. Her departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit remains a guiding light. Nettie was preceded in death by her Daddy, Luther Claude Butcher, her Mama Doshie Rachel Butcher, Sisters Frances Conn, Joann Butcher, and Vivian Barlow. She is survived by her older brother BB Butcher, Younger Sister June Spriggs, and Younger Brother Luther Butcher. She was the beloved aunt, great-aunt, and even a great-great-aunt to many, each of whom felt the warmth of her love and the joy of her smile and jokes. Her family and congregation were her pride and joy, and she nurtured each relationship with the same care and attention she gave to her beautiful embroidery work. From a young age, Nettie's mother instilled in her a mastery of domestic duties that blossomed into a life filled with artistry and service. Her embroidery was not just a pastime but a symbol of her dedication to craft and beauty. She had a unique ability to weave threads of kindness and compassion into every piece she created, much like the way she lived her life. Nettie was a pillar of the 7th Standard Pentecostal Church, where her faith illuminated her path and inspired those around her. Her spirit was as vibrant as the quilts she lovingly stitched, each one a testament to her creativity and devotion. Her hands, always busy with baking or crafting, were also ever ready to help a friend in need. Her enthusiasm for life extended to her love for the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Nettie celebrated every victory with gusto and faced each defeat with unshakeable optimism. She embodied the qualities of a true fan—loyalty, passion, and an undying hope for the next season. Friendly, faith-filled, and spirited—these words only begin to capture the essence of Nettie. She was a beacon of positivity, always seeing the best in people and situations. Her approach to life reminds us of the inspiring words of Helen Keller: "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence." Nettie's life was a living example of this powerful truth. Nettie's presence was a gift to all who knew her. She taught us that life is not just about the milestones but the moments in between—those quiet instances of connection, the shared laughter over a slice of homemade pie, the comfort found in a hand-stitched quilt on a cold evening. Her legacy is one of unwavering faith, boundless enthusiasm, and the purest form of love. As we bid farewell to Nettie Pauline Butcher, let us carry forward the light she has left in our lives. Let us honor her memory by living each day with the same faith in our lord, joy, and purpose she did. Her journey on earth has concluded, but the story of her impact is only beginning. May we all strive to weave the same richness into the tapestry of our lives that Nettie did with every thread she lovingly placed. Rest in peace, dear Nettie; your spirit dances on in the lives you've touched.
