Nazario Martinez was born June 12, 1945 in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to parents Macedonio and Isabel Martinez. He married the love of his life, Elva Martinez Garza on November 22, 1969 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Nazario was a cheerful and happy man with his family; his family was always a unit and he dedicated all of his time to those he loved. He especially enjoyed going for a drive and even spontaneous trips to Mexico to visit loved ones. Nazario is preceded in death by his parents, Macedonio and Isabel; his and his siblings, Arnulfo, Alicia, Guadalupe, Bernardina and Apolonio. He is survived by his wife, Elva; his children, Nazario Martinez Jr. and wife Mayra, Noe Martinez, Zoraida and husband Jose Manuel Valdez; his sisters, Ernestina Garcia and Isabel Silva; grandchildren, Gabriela, Jose Manuel Jr., Jennifer, Anaissa, Ayadelin, Mayra and Benito; and 1 great granddaughter, Everly. Funeral services for Nazario Valdez Martinez, age 70 of Shafter, were held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. Therese's Catholic Church. Father Walter Colocho officiated the Mass and burial followed at Shafter Memorial Park. A visitation was held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 4-8pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm.
