Obituary

Nadia Efseaff (Beliakoff)  was born on May 11, 1927 in Los Angeles, California.  She was the daughter of Sarah Baholdin (Moiseve) and John Beliakoff.  Nadia grew up in Los Angeles and as a young woman, worked at the corporate office of Avon in Los Angeles and then moved to San Francisco and worked for B of A while living at the YWCA , providing room and board for young working women.  She returned to Los Angeles and met Steve Efseaff at a Russian picnic.  The two hit it off and were married on December 3, 1950.  They lived on the farm and over the decades she truly became the "farmer's wife".  She pickled and canned everything imaginable.  She was especially known for her bread and butter pickles and pomegranate jelly earning blue ribbons for each at the Kern County fair.  She enjoyed ceramic classes and took courses in horticulture, sewing and tailoring at BC.  Steve and Nadia were known for their hospitality and gift of entertaining, hosting many bar-b-ques and having a tremendous spread of food.  Over the years, they welcomed their 5 children, Chris Conovaloff, Sandy Efseaff-Benster (Richard), Patty Efseaff, Dan (Susan) Efseaff and Janice Halopoff.  She is also the Grandmother of 10 wonderful grandchildren:  Patrick, Tyler, Lindsay, Nicole, Ashlee, Kayley, Josh, Allison, Emily and Carly.  She lived a long life on the farm, living in the same house for over 70 years.  She was preceded by Steve in 2010. Nadia was a woman of great faith and was a prayer warrior for her family.  She passed away on January 16, 2025 with loved ones at her side.  She had a life well lived and shall be missed.
