Murl was born in Marlow, Oklahoma to Leon and Della Thomasson. She moved to McFarland in 1936, and married Wesley Christolear on October 11, 1943. She was a cook at Delano Regional Medical Center and also McFarland Elementary School. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of McFarland. Murl loved going to the coast and taking care of her grandkids. Murl was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Della; husband, Wesley "Jack" on Nov. 29, 1968; grandson, Kenneth Eric Christolear. She is survived by her son, Wayne and wife, Rosann; daughter, Gloria June and husband, Charles Martin all of Bakersfield; sister, Burl Beene of Delano; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Friday, December 15, 2006, at 11am. Interment will follow at North Kern Cemetery District in Delano. Pastor Gerald Hossman of the First Missionary Baptist Church of McFarland will officiate. Visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 2-8pm.
