Muriel Unice Ricketts was born May 29, 1921 in Tipton, California to Edna May (Wiskerson) and James Samuel Marvin. She and John Hildred Ricketts were married July 5, 1939 in Pixley, California and in 1945 made Wasco their home. Muriel resided in Wasco for over 60 years and had resided in Bakersfield for the last eight years. Muriel is survived by her 4 sons, 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; they include son, John Wayne Ricketts (Sandra) and their children, Karri Ann Peace (Landon, Roni Nicole), Nicole Batch Spisak (Cameron Nicole), Robert John Wayne Ricketts ( Lilly, Jade), Matthew Hendershot (Cameron, Miriah), Landon Hendershot and Kenneth Hendershot; son, James Ray Ricketts (Wanda) and their children, Michalen (Francesca, Dominic, Vinny), Kelly (Tyler), Patrick Ricketts (Matt, Jessie and greats, Justine, Hayleigh), Lenny (Katie, Rikki), and Jennifer Holmes; son, Melvin Leon Ricketts (Susan) and their children, Tamara McMillian (Sidney, Jordan),Charity Olstein (Travis), Jared Ricketts and Katie Ricketts; and son, Allen Dale Ricketts (Lorelei) and their children, Richard Allen Ricketts (Addyson), Cassandra Anne Tara Ricketts and Alexander Dean Ricketts. Muriel is also survived by her sisters, Marlene Barton and Myrl Gilford. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hildred Ricketts (November 23, 1973), grandson, Richie and brothers, Ransom Marvin, Bud Marvin and Von Marvin. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, November 29 at 10am at Wasco Cemetery for Muriel Unice Ricketts, age 91, who passed away November 23, 2012. Pastor Mike Mason with the Church of Christ will officiate and interment will follow. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 28 from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco.
