Obituary

Morris Edward Pierce is now in the arms of his Lord and Savior, as he passed away Saturday morning in the home of his loving daughter Debra. He was born in Texas on February 6, 1931 to Minnie Opal (Harred) and Charles R. Pierce. After attending local schools he worked in the agriculture fields and then became self-employed as a body and fender repairman for 30 years. When ever Morris had a free chance he would pack up his fishing gear and find himself a good fishing spot. He enjoyed going to local swap meets and looking for the hidden treasures; a true trader of all items. He enjoyed the country music; Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash was just a couple of his favorite singers. Morris E. Pierce was preceded in death by his dear wife of 57 years, Freda (Barber) Pierce (2008) and son Morris Jr. (1993); daughter Rita Pierce (1992). He is survived by his sons, Ronald Pierce, Clifton and wife Holly Pierce; daughters Patsy Rachaul and husband George, Debra Littrell and husband Larry, Christine Blackwood and husband Michael; brothers, Troy Pierce and Floyd Pierce; sister Maxine Pierce, 17 loving grandchildren and 23 wonderful great grandchildren along with many acquaintances. Bob Winters of Liberty Christian Church will officiate a 1pm chapel service for Morris Edward Pierce, age 79, of Lamont on Wednesday May 19, 2010 at South Kern Cemetery District. Visitation was held at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary Tuesday May 18, 2010 from 5 to 8pm.
