Millard T. (Terry) Miller, 80, went home to be with his Lord on January 20, 2011 with his wife June of 33 years by his side. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on November 11, 1930, and was a Ventura County resident for 23 years, before moving to Bakersfield 24 years ago. At seventeen he joined the U.S. Navy where he aquired his GED, serving as an Electrical Engineer from 1947-1967, retiring at the rank of IC2. He served in Korea during the Koren War. He served in the Navy honorably for 20 years and an additional 10 years in the Fleet Reserve. After serving our country, he was employed by GTE, retiring after 20 years. For 50 years Terry loved bowling, which was something he enjoyed with family and where he met many of his friends. He also took pleasure in woodcraft and left behind many of his amazing crafts for family to treasure. Terry is survived by his wife, June, of Bakersfield; sisters; Peggy and Kathy, his 7 children; Sheila, Angela (Steve), Cynthia (Pete), Micheal (Isabella), Michelle (Tom), Tammy (Joe) and Sheri, 5 step children; Jane (Ben), Vernice (Charles), Ronald, LaNea, and Richard (Patty), 33 grandchildren, 83 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents; Robert and Helen and first wife May of 23 years . He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his entire family and many friends. Long live his memory, which is a reminder "Just because somebody doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with everything they got." A 10:45am graveside Service will be held for Mallalrd "Terry" Miller Wednesday, January 26, 2010 at Bakersfield National Cemetery.
