Mildred Lois Dematteis Lake (1912 - 2010)Mildred Lois Dematteis Lake 1912 - 2010 A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 14th, at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary (620 Oregon St.). Lois was 97 when she found peace and went with the angels to meet the Lord on April 7, 2010. Rev. Joe Coronado will officiate the service. Lois was born in Hedrick, Iowa, and was raised on the family farm. She had resided in Bakersfield since 1942. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, friend and enjoyed painting, sewing, crafts and gardening. Survivors include sons, Roger Eugene and Donald Edward Lake, of Bakersfield; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends that loved her. Lois was preceded into heaven by her husband of 54 years, Jack Lake, 1 sister, 2 brothers, and her mother and father, Ethel and Zeal Dematties. She had a long full life and has gone to a better place to bless them with her smile. She always found joy in the smallest things and made the best of everything around her. She will be missed, but she has left wonderful memories that will never be forgotten. Thanks to Evergreen Healthcare (Fairfax) who took great care of her for the past two years.
